Mothers Group Photography

I guess that since becoming a Dad, I have been exposed to a different type of client because I am in contact with different people - new parents! It's a great opportunity to share experiences and watch the kids playing and interacting together. In a break from the way I have traditionally pursued children's photography, I have been offering sessions to Mothers Groups - an opportunity to have collective or individuals in a shared and familiar space. Naturally it's also popular because there is not that much to organise as the session takes place at the meeting. If you are interested in one of my Mothers Group sessions - drop me an email - here

Under The Tree - Fahan School publication

One of my projects (well actually for the past year or so!) has been working on a publication project with Fahan School and Alice Bennett. This project is almost complete and our beautiful book will be hitting the bookshelves late September 09. The book is a tempting collection of modern and traditional recipes, offered by school members and their families. The photography is by Alice Bennett and I designed and produced the book. I'll let you know when it's a little closer to arriving - there may even be an opportunity to pre-order via Fahan School.

Quite a while ago now Loic, my fellow photographer and good friend, teamed up with Terence Munday to propose an exhibition for the Carnegie Gallery.

Our pitch was successful and we have received funding to exhibit "One Love - three perspectives"

Australian Community of Child Photographers

In my last newsletter I mentioned the Australian Community of Children's Photography. Junes newsletter detailed a very successful exhibition titled - Heartfelt.

This community is staffed by professional volunteer photographers. Most states are reasonably well represented by photographers although there are some states that could do with a boost in numbers. Tasmania currently has only two photographers on their books! This is a very beautiful and worthwhile cause and although not for everyone, can be very satisfying - knowing that you are helping someone come to terms with a very difficult situation.

My last newsletter (June 2009) featured information about the photography workshops I conduct with Tom Putt at the beautiful Cradle Mountain, down here in the north of Tasmania. A number of people have taken advantage of our 'newsletter subscription' pricing. See previous newsletter - here.

To further entice some potential attendants, I thought I would include some testimonials, submitted by previous workshoppers interspersed by images taken at Cradle Mountain. These images could be yours! Why not come and join us? It's guaranteed that you will have a great time, see some amazing landscape and come away taking better, more professional photographs.

Getting Married?

One of my projects (well actually for the past year or so!) has been to incorporate wedding photography into my portfolio as a photographer. I thought I might share some images from my most recent wedding with you as I know this might come as a suprise for some of you!

Strata - Wilderness Gallery Exhibition

The Wilderness Gallery has an amazing variety of exhibitions on display at the moment - a very curious one is Strata!

Some of you may know that I volunteer for an organisation called the Australian Community of Child Photographers (ACOCP). But some of you may not know that there is now some exciting news!

An Exhibition titled 'Heartfelt' is now on show to raise awareness for this very worthy cause. One of my ACOCP sesson images is included in the exhibition.

If you’ve ever wanted to photograph Cradle Mountain under the guidance of two of Australia’s leading new generation landscape photographers, here is your chance!

Introduction to Alex

I have saved the best for last, my previous newsletter announced that Sharon and I were going to be having a baby, well it happened. I am proud to introduce you to Alexander Aedan Wallace, the most beautiful boy ever I know. I’m slightly biased!
